I know I should probably stay out of this, but you know what they say - fools rush in ...

Buzz: you are being a bit disingenuous. Net was trying to curb the nasty personal barbs that fly between the two of you, not legitimate disagreement on baseball topics. He wasn't trying to censor you, just to do his part to stop the personal battles you two sometimes lock into - which, to my eye, are quite unpleasant to read, like watching angry spouses yell at each other in public.

Net: you probably would have done better to just resolve not to take Buzz's bait - and not to bait him - without announcing it publicly on the board. I understand why he's hurt by your approach because you've singled him out.

Now both of you, please, kiss and make up. Petulance is not as interesting as baseball.

I don't think anything is being hung on you. I thought Net's comments were meant to be shouldered equally by the two of you.

The truth is I always liked your go arounds and said so.

You undertood/stated exactly what I was trying to do. Thanks also for the confirm that you found the exchanges unpleasant. This is what I feared, and, it is why I made my post.

You are also 100% correct that I mishandled the situation. [Can I blame it on Yankee fan post-season jitters and the onset of the flu? ] Really, I have no excuse for my fumble - other than I'm learning on the job as a forumer/moderator. I've apologized to Buzz in a PM for handling it poorly and I will now confirm that in public here. Buzz, I was wrong - and I am sorry.

On the plus side, this did bring cause for me to publish the Community Standards. I think having it in writing is better than leaving it implied and assumed. Obviously, they are effective 10/18/01 - therefore, anything that flies contrary to them which was posted before 10/18/01, should not be held up to the light.
