Mr Winnfield played during the same era of another great right fielder. Some say this other right fielders glove was better. If you look at this other right fielders stats under the sabermetric light you will his numbers are comperable if not better.

I am supose to be the short blonde splashing in the shallow end of the pool with Manny..........

That's a lot of numbers, hmrsf. One of the key ones is, Winfield had more RCAA than Dewey, even though he played for longer and risked the negative ratings at the end of his career.

My right fielders - the top three are obvious, and Sosa will eventually move past Winfield

01 Babe Ruth
02 Henry Aaron
03 Frank Robinson
04 Dave Winfield
05 Sammy Sosa
06 Al Kaline
07 Reggie Jackson
08 Roberto Clemente
09 Mel Ott
10 Dwight Evans or Tony Gwynn or Wahoo Sam

Ott has one of the most extreme home field advantages ever in that the Polo Grounds were shaped like a horseshoe - real short down the foul lines (well under 300 feet) and an endless centerfield. He hit 330 of 511 career home runs at home

How could any wrong that he did compare with that?" - John Sears

He did not play longer by much, the rc is is not a huge differance.

1818 vs 1669........ I am just getting my bud mentioned and getting his numbers shown.

1 Babe Ruth
2 Hank Aaron
3 Frank Robinson
4 Mel Ott
5 Harry Heilmann
6 Reggie Jackson
7 Sam Crawford
8 Sammy Sosa
9 Al Kaline
10 Larry Walker

Personally, I think Walker is superior to both Winfield and Evans. Much higher OPS+ and RCAA and every bit as good defensively. I will admit that he trails them medically.
