Default what are you most looking forward to in 2003?

With pitchers and catchers reporting in a matter of weeks, what are you most looking forward to in the 2003 season? Here are a few of mine:

1. How good can Barry Zito get? As awesome as he was in 2002, he may not have hit his ceiling yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see him put together a sub 2.00 ERA season to rival some of Pedro Martinez's best years.

2. What can Godzilla do in the U.S.? it's been a while since the Yankees have had a real player in left field. Most Japanese players don't live up to the hype. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.

3. Will the Angels do it again? They surprised nearly everyone with their scrappy approach and their dedication to fundamentals. They were a pleasure to watch all season and especially in October, a classic example of baseball done right. I will enjoy watching them play in 2003, and hope they can maintain the intensity.

I'm looking forward to another year where no matter how much we know or think we know, we can't predict what's going to happen. For all we know this is the year of the Expos Devil Rays World Series! Wouldn't that be a sight!

I am, as always, looking forward to entering that delusional world around April 1st where I believe that THIS year, the Sox can make a run for the pennant. The longer the delusion lasts, the better the season!

Think you'll make it to April 180th or so this year, TimmyB?

1. How will Euribal Durazo perform as the everyday DH for Oakland. Will he be able to stay healthy this season?

2. How the Giants will perform with a re-tooled line-up and a new manager

3. Will Dusty Baker finally lift the Cubs to the next level?

I don't know about TimmyB but I am banking on it! Have you taken a look at the Bosox lineup? When is the last time they had a legititment leadoff and #2 and #3hole and bonified cleanup?

The starting rotation gives me goose flesh! I would get into a cold sweat turning on the computer. Imagine, we kept Fossum.....how awsome!!! Wakefield gets his wish and starts! Wahoooooooooooooooo!!! 1-2-3-4 never mind Burkett. I LIKE!!!!

My PEN! My PEN! Holy MolY my PEN! Vastly improved and ready to roll. Bull pen by committee. Best pitcher for the situation, who would have thought!

D is good
Starting rotation is exactly what I wanted
Pen is better than I imagined
Lineup is better than I could have put together.

Opening day is in 63 days and pitchers and Catchers report in 19 days.........Lets ROLL!

1) Can Sean Burroughs keep his job this year?

2) Can Jaret Wright regain his '97-'98 form?

3) Pedro. I drop everything if I get the opportunity to see him pitch.

4) Can the Padres gain some good momentum in '03 for '04 when the move into the freindly confines of PETCO Park.

GO PADS!!!

Just go to the Trop! Buy all 9 games! They are cheapppppp! Pedro is bound to pitch. Pick the best seats in the house and you will see him pitch. Also, get yourself some ST tickets.

You have more oppertunity to see MY Sox play than I do. It is probably easier and cheaper.........so go!!!!

Seeing Pedro and Wakefied or Lowe from pitching seats is a treat.

BTW, next year I will assist my dad set up his winter home. You can bet I will sneak away to as many ST games as possible. You game Trev?

I think that EVERY year! (That's the fun part of the delusion...)

I'm with hm on this one, though -- this year my delusion could intersect with reality.

I'm obviously looking forward to Bob Melvin's first year here...and hopefully the Expos' second straight .500+ season.

I personally look forward to moments than I do seasons. For example, Bonds passing his godfather, Bonds creating the 500-500 club, and the up to 4 new members of the 500 HR club. Otherwise I'll look forward to what I normally look forward to, the unexpected. On any given day, anyone can do something memorable. Every game can be a moment waiting to happen. More than any other sport, baseball gives us these moments. That's what baseball has done, it's turned moments...into moments. Or however that commercial goes.

1. How good the Cubs will be this year with Dusty Baker at the helm.

2. How good Mark prior can be.

3. Finding out if Carlos Pena is actually good or not.

4. Godzilla - monster or ordinary liazrd?

5. Selection of the Tigers All-Star representative. It could be someone very odd.

6. Clemens quest for 300 wins.

7. Anytime Pedro, RJ, Zito, Schilling, Prior pitch.
