I'm guessing there will be a lot of "Other" answers on this one. Tell us which actor makes you want to avoid any movie with him in it.

To answer my own question, I voted for Nicholas Cage and Hugh Grant (notice they were the first ones I put on the list of choices). Cage is just unbearable to watch and listen to -- whines like a sick bassett hound. And I can't seem to pin down why I dislike Hugh Grant so much. He just seems so...so...British!!!
Anyway, the 9 actors on the list were compiled from a quick Google search of the phrase "annoying actor". So, whether you think your favorite actor should be on that list or not, somebody out there thinks so.

These are my picks (in order, more or less) for most annoying. There are others I thought of, but who fall under 'bad actors' (Joseph Fiennes, Keanu, Seagal, etc) or 'not funny' (Tom Green, recent non-Shrek Eddie Murphy, DeNiro attempting comedies, etc) moreso than 'annoying'
Hugh Grant Reese Witherspoon Nicolas Cage Lisa Kudrow Freddie Prinze Jr David Schwimmer Tim Allen Rodney Dangerfield Whoopi Goldberg Damon Wayans Julie Andrews Arnold Schwarzenegger Sandra Bullock

Cage is most annoying from your list; but when combining annoyance and exposure ratings, Tom Cruise (from Louisville) must be number 1. For just plain most annoying because he's a dumbass, it's Adam Sandler. Somewhere in between you have Keanu.
For lifetime achievement as the "Can be a quality actor but one who blows it more often than not" award it's Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Gene Wilder (the most annoying yet brilliant conundrum I can think of), Costner (Get off muh land), and (lately) DeNiro ... with the obvious winner being Chase. |

Nicholas Cage did a bit of redeeming in my eyes recently in Adaptation. He turns in a terrific performance in a duel role in an offbeat film. Check it out.
Hugh Grant makes me want to punch him everytime I see him, even in ads. I think the last thing I saw him in was Small Time Crooks, and hated him in that. What, no Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez, or Sandra Bullock? Each on these women may be easy on the eyes, but their horrible acting makes me want to kill myself.

I thought this was actor, not actress ... though after further review the poll choices to make it a mixed gender bag. Oops, sorry, Hugh and Leo confused me there for a sec.

I can't stand Martin Lawrence. Just too obnoxious.

Richard Gere. I don't think he has ever been anything that I have liked (I've never seen "Officer and a Gentleman" though).

Ben Affleck would definitely be near the top of my list. Dicaprio gained a little in my view by his role in Catch me if you can. What I find more annoying than Leo is the following he often gets in the media. |

You mean he didn't really move out of the US following fall of 2000? (Not political, just skewering a true idiot who could've been the next Bond if he'd just stuck with the Clancy movies)

Baldwin should have not left that role. Harrison Ford did well in it, but I just can't accept Ben Affleck as Jack Ryan? |

How's this for a line-up?
The Hollywood Hams (World's Most Annoying Movie Actors) Catcher: Nicholas Cage -- his constant whining will drive the opposing hitters absolutely nuts 1st Base: Hugh Grant -- stick him at first, where he doesn't have to move, just stand there and look awkward CF: Steve Buscemi -- deep, deep center, preferably with the bill of his cap pulled down over his face 3B: Leonardo DiCaprio -- got to have him in the infield, so we'll at least attract some young ladies to the ballpark Left Field: Alec Baldwin, unless he has finally followed through on his promise to leave the country after George Bush was elected SS: Tim Curry -- this twinkle-toes can probably do a pretty decent short stop dance Right Field: Martin Lawrence -- keep his foul mouth far in the outfield 2B: David Schwimmer -- hardly qualifies as a movie actor, but second is the only place left to put this dope LHP: Owen Wilson -- space cadet definitely fits the sothpaw mold Relief Pitcher: Jim Carrey -- now that's what I call a herky-jerky motion
