No he doesn't. A player has to be bad and in environment where either mediocrity isn't frowned upon or have a nice contract where the team would rather pay him and lose games than merely pay him and let his butt rot on the bench.

It's like saying a criminal has got to a pretty good guy to come up with some of his crimes. Neither comments make any sense.

you'd have to be pretty ignorant to say guys like haynes, baldwin, bere, mulholland, etc are among the worst pitchers out there. hell, i wouldn't mind having some of those guys on my team.

I admire anyone who can pitch a decade in the bigs and get 1500 innings. to compare them with someone like Andrew Lorraine (or a hundred other guys who've nibbled at the majors over the past few years) is absurd.

these stats are interesting as a curiosity.

If keeping runs off the scoreboard is a sign of ignorance, then ignorance wins pennants.

If giving runs are a "curiosity", then last place must also just be a curiosity.

call them the Sunk Cost All-Stars.

poorme - they're perceived to be good enough to hold a job, but among those holding jobs, they're the worst of the worst.

hmrsf - just for you: à á â ã ä å æ ç è é ê ë ì í î ï ñ ò ó ô õ ö ø ù ú û ü ý ÿ

well, yes, of those pitchers who pitch a lot of innings, you could say they are the worst.

many of these guys aren't sunk costs. i would say most of them are the year to year types. navarro was an obvious exception there - and yes, he IMO, was the worst pitcher of all time.

excepting those players "being developed" (drese, quevedo), they represent mlb clubs' ignorance of the sunk costs principle.

ok, you've already paid a million to pat mahomes. he is stinking up the joint. there's no need to keep trotting him out there every 5 days. waive his sorry arse goodbye and try someone who could do better.
