Default Millwood Dealt to Phillies

http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2002/1220/1480130.html

For Johnny Estrada?

Thoughts?

This has to make the Phillies the Favorite in the East.

Default I can't believe it either

I mean, if you are going to make a trade this bad, do you really have to do it with a division rival?

Why couldnt some other team offer a crap catcher to get Millwood, this makes no sense.

So this how you concede a division before the season starts?

This trade makes no sense to me. No slight on Estrada, but surely Millwood could have brought a significantly higher return?

I didn't see that one coming. You would think that someone would have been willing to give the BRaves more than Estrada.

This has to be one of the stranger trades this off-season. I don't see any PTBNL. I'm scratching my head with along everyone else. A good arm for a back-up catcher. Weird.

Millwood for a guy with a career .619 OPS?? Schuerholz must have asked Allard Baird for advice on this one. Insane.

Maybe Schuerholz woke up this morning and thought he was still the Kansas City GM......

There's no way this really happened. Not a chance. Maybe Jason Marquis for Johnny Estrada but even that might be steep. The Braves don't give their best players away and they certainly don't do it within their division. I'll believe this when I see Millwood in a Phillies uni next season. There's no way this happened.

It wasn't Eric Estrada?

They didn't go back and get Bobby Estallela?

My, the Cubs could have offered them HUNDLEY! (Well, a month ago...)

How do the Braves trade Millwood to their competition? Is money that tight in Atlanta?
