It was the 4th time Thome led the AL. He also led in 1997-99. It was the 11th time Bonds led the NL. He also led in 1990-97 and 2000-01.

McGwire raised it to .731 (1998-2000), before Bonds broke it again with .734 (1999-2001) and then raised it to .830. It was the 5th time Thome led the AL.
