Prior to Bonds, the record was .728, by Mark McGwire, from 1998-2000. It was the 3rd consecutive time Ramirez led the AL. LAST 4 YEARS (SINCE 1999) MAJORS--Barry Bonds, .748 AL--Manny Ramirez, .652 NL--Barry Bonds, .748 It was the 2nd consecutive time and the 5th time Bonds led the majors and the 2nd consecutive time and the 7th time he led the NL.
