Babe Ruth was the only player with higher figures--twice, with a record of .796, from 1920-22. Bonds broke his own NL record of .732, from 1999-2001. Prior to Bonds, the record was .728, by Mark McGwire, from 1998-2000.

It was the 3rd consecutive time Ramirez led the AL.
