Default Nfl Mvp?

I know its only Week 12, and probably too early to start with the MVP Race, but I have a candidate that may seem surprising.............Mike Vick.....Honestly, are the Falcons are playoff contender without him? The Falcons, are 6-3-1 team are probably sitting at 2-8 without him, not to mention the fact he is the most electrafying player in the league....

Any comments on Vick or your candidate for MVP?

You are probably right about Vick, but Favre is probably the "favorite" to win the award, assuming he doesn't have any more games like he had this past Sunday, but then he always has problems playing in the Metrodome. I would have thought McNabb would have gotten strong consideration, too, until he broke his ankle Sunday. Amazing that he played that well on it during the game, but then again, it was against the Cardinals.

Does Vick go by "Mike" these days ???

I would have said McNabb too, but with him possibly out, I'll lean towards Favre.

There is no rational way for the NFL to pick an MVP.

I'm not convinced that MLB has a rational way, either......

Vick has been simply awesome this year. I think he would make a good MVP. Also in the fray... Favre, Terrell Owens, Deuce McAllister and Priest Holmes.

It'll never happen, but for my money Warren Sapp and Simeon Rice deserve some votes.

While Michael Vick and Donovan McNabb have both done a great job leading less-talented teams, I think that Brett Favre has the best chance of winning MVP at this point. The Packers should end with the league's best record, and Favre's passing numbers are miles ahead of those of Vick.

If Kurt Warner had remained on the shelf, then I think Marc Bulger would have been a candidate. If he'd stayed in, and the Rams managed to make the playoffs, then I think he would have won easily. Not only is he 5-0 as a starter, but he has a QB rating of 106, a number in Montana-Young territory.

Outside of QBs, the most viable candidate seems to be Priest Holmes, since he really carries the Chiefs' offense. However, unless they make a playoff run, I don't know how much consideration he'll get. And while Marvin Harrison seems on pace for 1700 yards receiving, I don't think he'll ever get the attention he deserves, much less consideration for MVP.

So I'll stick with Favre for now, barring a Packers' collapse or Vick stepping it up even further.

I'd vote for LaDainian Tomlinson if the Chargers make the playoffs...may not have the numbers of some other candidates, but who gives a damn? They have offensive and defensive players of the year for that purpose.

I don't think Tomlinson will win it, since Brees gets some credit for leading the Chargers. When it was crunch time against the 49ers, it was Brees' heady play that allowed them to win, ending that short losing streak. LD is a great RB, but I don't think he'd have a shot.

He'll have plenty more chances in the years to come, I think.
