Default World Series Game 6

Dusty did say that Dunston could hit Appier.

Yes - but are results important?

No - what's really important is that statistically, putting Dunston in was stupid.

In an ideal world, Giants lead 1-0.

A more-statistically-inclined-than-I friend of mine was whining to me about why the Giants were ignorant for starting Dunston at DH before the game. Netshrine isn't much of a place for inside jokes that don't involve Netshrine people- sorry about that...

but.. after an hour of listening to him praise Fransisco Rodriguez, bash Lofton's defense, tell me that his speed is irrelevant, and whine about Dunston starting - the game was a pleasant way to get him to leave my apartment.

Here's a question - did Scioscia overexpose Rodriguez? Was he easier to hit because of overuse?

probably but what choice do you have?

Weber and Donnelly were the go-to guys in the regular season, but they've been hammered.

I can't believe the Angels. This is getting ridiculous.

Hate to mention this but the greatest left fielder ever looks like Lonnie Smith.

That was some ugly fielding by Bonds.. Ouch.

To answer your "who else?" question - I think Scioscia has underused Schoeneweis this whole postseason.

This all may be moot now, however.

yeah. The Giants murder lefties though (.493 slugging regular season, .331 .493 postseason.)

This isn't good...during that 8th inning I had 1986 flashbacks, especially bad ones with Barry Bonds...
So much for the Giants in 6 prediction. Giants in 7. TRUST ME. I may have a Rally Monkey shirt, but I'm rooting for the Giants...

BTW, off the subject...this game was not on radio in the Seattle-Tacoma area...I had to watch this damn thing on TV, and I've trying to boycott Fox. Cougar and Husky football is great, but someone has to be fired for not putting the game 6 feed on radio here...

I know they murder lefties... but at some point you've got to play your cards and hope they're as good as theirs.

Now, though Scioscia looks like a genius. I don't know how mentally ready Weber can be - but he's available - fresh - along with most of the bullpen as he only used Fransisco, Donnelly, and Percival tonight - (none of whom cracked 20 pitches tonight) impressive when your starter barely clears 4 innings.

What a game.

I thought Giants in 7 from the beginning, although I wouldn't have predicted it would happen this way.

I'm leaning toward thinking the Angels are going to win this tomorrow now, but Livan will be tough, I think.

What a game. I thought it was over with Kent's hit. I really need to stop counting the Angels out.

I'm wrung out. I was sitting here resigned to the loss, thinking to myself , " Well,at least it's the Giants."
But I'm drawn back in by Speizio's at bat. Fouling off the high stuff , working the count. Then BAM!
Unbelievable.
Right before Appier gave up the homer to Dunston there was a shot of Black on the phone to the pen. You could read his lips. He said, " Is he ready?"Next pitch ...Dunston parks it.
