The one time HWCBN doesn't go to a one-out lefty, it bites him in the butt.

Giants win 4-3 for a 3-1 series lead. This could end tomorrow, especially if Morris doesn't have his "A" game again.

I love seeing Santiago go deep when Bonds gets intentionally walked. HWCBN said they were going to challenge Barry. Challenge him to do what, stay awake at the plate?

I'll slip into Californian for minute:
"Wow, I mean, like, um, Wow" That was an incredible game. I was tense the whole time. Just high drama. That was a baseball fan's dream. Watching your team play game like that in the playoffs. I'm going tomorrow night. I'll be losing my voice. Go Giants.

Chicken*$#& HE WHO CANNOT BE NAMED got his come-uppance.
Play the freakin' game. Bring in Kline; he could probably take Santiago, too on the way to Snow. Intentional walks are like dangling sodium (or cesium, if you will) on a thin line above water. Will the line hold? |

Would you make a big deal about how you were going to challenge him first though? |

On occasion, coaches and managers in professional sports have been known to be less than completely honest as to their intentions and strategies for a postseason series. |

True. Maybe I just don't like the way HWCBN manages. |

fair enough. there are a couple other managers that tend to walk Bonds, too.

There were really only two choices: intentional walk, or semi-intentional walk. Any big league manager would have done one of those, given what he had in the bullpen.
The mistake was to leave White in for 41 pitches on 0 days rest. Shades of Brenly and Kim last year. |

as long as they dont invent straw men that are real men (see Mike Martz and Merrill Hodge), im cool. -- ps - i think you could make a case that HWCBN has let his pitchers throw to bonds more than others have, even in the regular season. but honestly, there really is no utility in putting a ball near the plate in that situation |
