Damnit, there's no such thing as a clutch hitter. Also, you need guys who walk a lot and hit homers, otherwise you have a bunch of guys who won't win any games and are probably morally bankrupt as well. Defense doesn't really matter, especially defense at first.
Bengie .323 (97-for-300) in his career Close & Late, .251 all other at-bats (258-for-1028). |

If I hear that Billy Preston song ONE MORE TIME I'm going to off myself!! Don't try and stop me!!
I used to love that song.....I HATE Cadillac!! first they take an over played Zep song and stomp it into dust. Now it's Billy Preston. A pox on Cadillac. |

1. If Fred Patek can hit 3 homers in a game, why not Adam Kennedy? That's just the karma god's way of giving Edmonds the finger.
2. I think I'll stick with tortured angel until I get to go back to Planet Earth. The station that carried the game last night had no friggin picture. I had to sit in front of my 34" Sony digital and stare at a black background while listening to the game I've waited 30 years to watch. 3. With Koskie and Ortiz coming up, Scioscia brought in Donnely and left Schoewiess in the pen. What does that say about his confidence and who might pitch to Bonds if the Giants get that far? 4. Are the saberheads all wet? You don't need plate discipline and power. You just need to sit back and wait for an 8 or 10 run inning powered by singles hitting and the 3rd homer of the night from your #9 hitter. 5. Lack of sleep makes you ramble even when you're typing. What are the chances I can convince Fox and MLB to start the games at 10:00AM ET? |

It's quite possible that Jim Edmonds is the karma god's finger. |

How the heck did that happen ??? If it had been Glaus or Anderson, I could understand it... It just seemed strange that the Twins starters had struggled all season and the bullpen carried them and then the exact reverse happens to them in this series. I guess the bullpen just ran out of gas at the wrong time, plus they caught a very good team at the wrong time as well. I knew the Angels were a very good team, but I was also hoping that maybe they had used up most of their hits against New York. Give them all the credit--they got the hits when they needed them and made the Twins offense look rather tame. Congrats to spitball and the tortured one. Best of luck next week in the Series and hopefully we'll be playing you guys again next October..... Now, if only the Twins don't get broken up this winter.....well, I'd be okay if they moved Jones somewhere....

After seeing the boys lose to Anaheim in 5 games, I am heading into the series pulling for the Angels. There's very little about this team not to like (except the kid in the monkey suit). The loss is made easier because I am convinced that there's no team in baseball that could have derailed the Angles this week. They are a great ball club that is playing as well as they can play (or above that in a few cases). That's a lethal combination. The Angels "have it" right now, and I sincerely hope that they keep it going.
