I think I've bought one CD all year. Of course being out of work for several months stopped me from buying music. I also have access to a pretty good size MP3 library. The one CD I bought was Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. For those of you haven't heard it, check it out.

I was expecting to be disappointed by 'The Eminem Show'. But I think it is a fantastic disc, filled with great beats (thanks Dre) and some really inspired and introspective lyrics. |

Actually my last buying jag was of used LPs - picked up four Dean Martin on the Reprise label, two Johnny Mathis on the Mercury label, and a couple of Brother Dave Gardner on Tower. Plus I picked up an Ernest Tubb 45 - "Don't Tell Me Just Pack Up And Go"
I have the Johnny Paycheck CD referenced earlier - it's good but could have been better - too much "outlaw" stuff, not enough of the "Mr. Lovemaker" period. Actually the best Johnny Paycheck collection was the CMF collection issued of the years he spent on the Little Darling label. This is some of the most hard-core (and sometimes demented) country music ever issued. One of the more interesting titles is "Excuse Me (I've Got Someone To Kill Tonight)"
