Yankee pitchers gave up like, 18 hits to the Angels in one game. Here, they only get 4, against Joe Mays.

What a difference a defense makes, I guess.

If the Angels do not hit in the ALCS, I swear, I will begin to think the ALDS was fixed!

Dangit - this was REAL baseball, not some GD AL softball we've all been subjected to, forcibly, in the past few years.

Ty Cobb would have been proud of this game....

It was a baseball game. The pitching was superb and the D , save for Guzman's gaff was also superb.
Kennedy's post game comments were right on the mark. The Twins' scouts noticed something that I've known all along. Slow stuff kills the Angels.
Mays pitched his tucchus off. Great game.
Angels will have to forget it and move on.

Great game. I like pitcher's duels more than the blowout games to begin with, but I especially love the duels in the ps. It will be interesting to see how the Angels respond in Game 2.

I was thinking of you during that game!! maybe Torre and company should have consulted you instead of Stick Michael's group of eight.

The Twins did a very good job tonight, some timely hitting to compliment a great pitching performance and a pretty crisp defense.

he looked like an idiot there.

Default Lyons ...

Someone PLEASE kill Steve Lyons. Please. I hide my Fox Sports hat every time he opens his mouth.

"I believe in the importance of the closer." This is an actual quote. It's one thing to have a good player like Joe Morgan say the occasional idiotic thing, but another to have some guy famous for pulling his pants down do it.'

Mays pitched masterfully and the Twins play a great brand of baseball. Now where were all these fans earlier in the year?

Ditto to all (but Max) on the great game comments.

Ditto to Will on Steve Lyons. I just cannot stand that guy.

Has anyone seen Joe Mays and former Yankee-Cards 2B Pat Kelly together at the same time in the same place?
