If Texas was in the AL Central and Minnesota in the AL West, what would have been different.
Would the Rangers had a significantly better W/L record? Would the Twins have had a losing record? Would they have contended in the West? I believe that if the Rangers were in the AL Central, they would have won the division in a close race, with the White Sox posting a slightly better record than they did. Likewise, I think Minnesota would have finished fourth in the AL West, although the gap between 1st and 4th MAY have been less, and may have enabled the Boston Red Sox to earn the Wild Card. What do you all think? |

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, then based on the notion of this thread, we would have enough to eat until they finally rename Cooperstown to be Fuzzytown............

Texas was 18-27 against AL Central teams. I have a hard time imagining they would have won in any division.
Though, yes, Minnesota would have probably finished in the low 80s had they been in the AL West.

If this was true, the Indians may have stayed closer and decided to go after the title and instead of dumping Colon and Finley they may have traded for some help. Then the Cards couldn't trade for Finley so the Astros may have caught them in the NL central and it would be Jimy Williams doing the micromanaging instead of HWCBN. The schedule would look different so A-Rod wouldn't have to face the 2 best pitching staffs(based on runs against) as many times and may have broken Maris' AL home run record which may have enraged some crazed fan enough to take a shot at him while exiting the taem bus but he may have missed and hit John Rocker which would be ironic since this crazed fan takes the #7 train every day. I hope your satisfied Fuzzy, you just killed John Rocker!
