Thumbs down Mets Killed The Phils On This One

Since being traded from the Mets to the Phils:

Turk Wendell:
12 games - 8 IP - 15 hits - 9 ER - good for an ERA of 10.12

Dennis Cook:
5 games (missed time for personal reasons) - only 3 IP - 8 hits and 2 ER - good for an ERA of 6.00

What a hatchet job.

Even Wendell's love for the number 9 isn't going to be enough to get him to frame that stat line.

How's Bruce Chen doing, overall? I watched him pitch pretty well against the Dodgers last night.

Trading prospects for relievers, unless they're Trevor Hoffman or Troy Percival, is always a risky proposition.

Given Cook's age and Wendell's head, no matter what Chen does this year, I'd rather have him for 2002.

Duque - - whatsamatter? When you gonna go for the avatar?

I'm holding out for the Maddux or Clemens.

I'm surprised you haven't turned this - into an avatar yet

Chen's 5-6 with a 4.58 ERA and -1 RSAA in 20 starts this year.

Chen has been solid since the trade. In 5 starts, he's 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA.

Heard Wendell is getting booed without mercy every time he's announced in Philly now.

Isn't booing and Philadelphia redundant?

Pretty much. It's a sick sports town.
I was explaining to my wife the other day that they have a Judge at the Vet for all the Eagle games - because of the volume of problems - and she thought I was kidding.

Philly is no baseball town either. They are a hockey first, football second town.
