Question Giambi - Nike Spot - Don't Fence Me In

Are they just running this spot in NY/NJ/CT or is anyone else seeing it? Is it running nationally?

The only Giambi commercial I have seen is the one for deodorant.

Sidebar: You know, I've thought for a long while now that if Giambi had an agent worth poop, he'd have gotten a deal for shaving and/or haircutting while on the way to the Yanks. You know, do it live ... make a zillion bucks.

Didn't someone else get a big ad for something similar (no, not Namath and his 'hose) sometime in the past 25 years or so?

For what it's worth, the Nike spot is very well done. Could not imagine a ballplayer getting a better spot.

I think I saw it last night, but I don't remember that much about the commercial because I wasn't paying real close attention to it.

FINALLY just saw this.

VERY cool.

I would have appreciated a few more shots of giambi rocking balls out of the part, but i won't complain*

*suddenly thought of the "ichiro is number 1" "anybody complain?!!?" guy from the espn magazine commercials.

I saw it too. It was a good spot, but nothing special. Perhaps this thread led to me having overly high expectations. Doesn't come close to the A's ads this year.

Something I've wondered about regarding Jeter's and now Giambi's affiliation with Nike - one of the Yankee's bigest sponsers is Adidas, think they've got a problem with the 2 biggest stars on the team being sponsered by Nike? Just curious. Giambi and Soriano are in another Nike commercial that plays regularly in the Tri-state area (featuring athletes from a variety of sports).
