What are the odds the Colts move to LA? 4-1? What's the problem with Indy? Not enough $$$?

Stadium revenues aren't enough. But the city and the Colts are working on a plan.
I'd say its a long shot. The lease is fairly iron clad until 2006, and Irsay likes Indianapolis. But if they move, it wouldn't totally shock me. |

Here's an article. The city basically calls the report "poppycock". |

Did LA ever get a new stadium? If not there's no point. Unless The ghost of Carrol Rosenblum draws them out there.

It probably depends on whether the Vikings or Chargers move there first......

With the kind of money each and every NFL owner is making it ought to be against the law for them to re-locate.
A team would have to be nuts to move to LA without a new stadium. It would be ironic if the Colts bolted Indy to go to another just because of a new stadium.

..of course, didnt the irsay family "TRADE"franchises with carrool Rosenbloom [Rams for colts}? the irony of the irsay's, carpetbaggers supreme pulling up stakes[again] to go back to the future is astounding...

Yeah, but Jimmy isn't his drunken, stumblebum, meddling father.
Jimmy lets the football guys do their jobs and has been great in the community thus far. We shall see.... |

Well, they definitely need to have a team in L.A., if only because of sheer market size. However, I hope they don't simply kidnap the Indy franchise.
Chris Mortensen backtracked slightly today from his previous comments, saying only that the chances of their moving were better than most people have been thinking. On Sunday, it almost sounded like a sealed deal, and I don't think that's the impression he was trying to give. Keep them in Indy. It's worth the drive to watch them instead of having to sit through another Bengals loss! |

Please ...We don't need a team in L.A.
We don't need a new stadium. We need schools and roads that don't have potholes the size of Rhode Island. It's already been proven that football is dead in L.A. Pro that is. If a team wants to come here put them in the Colisseum. All the disparaging comments regarding the Colisseum are because of the predominently black neighborhood it's located in. Which is strange considering USC has no problem filling the place. If the Colts are asking for a public funded stadium, I say let 'em move to Butte . Just keep them away from L.A. No offense to the Colts as a team because they rock but I'm against publicly funded stadiums of any kind. |

Actually, they're talking about the Rose Bowl.

That's a beautiful site. But we all know that whoever wants to move there will want luxury boxes, etc. That would be like having figure 8 racing at Churchill Downs. Not very respectful to say the least. All that said.......It IS probably a done deal. ![]() |

As long as they go to the Rose Bowl that's fine. They killed the Big A once for the Rams and the ungrateful bat packed em off to St Louis anyway.
