Maybe I am too close and can't see this clearly... I think the problems the Eagles have were illustrated today. 1. They don't have a put-you-away running game. The team just isn't committed to the run, and when they need to churn out first downs, convert a third-and-short and punch it in at the goal line, they can't do it. 2. Donovan McNabb is a terrific player but he needs a better supporting cast. Joe Montana didn't have much on his first Super Bowl team, and Elway carried through teams with gaping holes to the Super Bowl, but McNabb isn't on that level. The announcers were blaming the pass protection today but I think McNabb simply holds onto the ball too long. The Eagles' offense "forte" as it were is the short-passing game. The problem is they don't throw deep often enough -- I am not exactly sure if McNabb can't throw the bomb or if the receivers can't get open deep -- or run enough to open up the stuff underneath. The West Coast offense works when you work the ball to the backs and tight ends, but most importantly, you need receivers who can turn high-percentage 3-yard passes into 20-yard gains. McNabb rarely hits receivers in stride/their receivers don't run well after the catch. Frankly the Eagles were able to take the big early lead because of some huge special-teams play, without which Tennessee might have led all the way. |

Given how tired I am of the 'Tony Dungy Ball' played by the past couple of Super Bowl winners (Ravens, Patriots), and a lot of team's stodgy reliance on the run, I am looking forward to see what Steve Spurrier can do for an entire season. Shane Matthews with 300+ yards passing?

Well I want the Skins to go , but that would be asking too much. I just think the 9er's are the hot team this year. |

To soon to tell - let's get about five games into the schedule before making any predictions

Two weeks into the season and it's very clear that there's no one great team.
Unless of course it's the Pats, who were, again, getting points from an inferior team. Last winter I was telling everyone I could that the Rams were a fraud. They look mighty human. |

So the Patriots have been underdogs in 6 straight games, and they've won all 6 games. Now, that's some serious disrespect.
Kurt Warner's finger must be bothering him. Several of his passes yesterday looked just horrible. He looks more like a guy who stocks grocery shelves than he does a great quarterback. |

Would it be stepping on moose's toes if I answered: "The team with the most points?"

I gotta wonder, though -- if the Browns had started against the Pats and Raiders, and the Squeelers had started against the Chefs and Bungles, the Browns might be 0-2 and Pittsburgh might be 2-0.
We'll find out soon enough. |

I predict every team will go 8 and 8 and the playoff system will come down to points and tiebreakers.
My suggestion is run up the score....
