Ed Herrmann, the former White Sox catcher, has agreed to a NetShrine interview.
Is there a question you would like to ask? Post it here. I'll try and include the best Q's in the interview. Thanks.

I don't know the exact questions, but he caught some fabulous pitchers - tommy john, goose gossage, wilber wood, jim kaat. How would you like to catch goose and wood in the same game?
was dick allen the jerk everyone says? what was chuck tanner like as a manager? |

Steve - I'd like you to ask him something like this "If a pitcher complained of arm stiffness, like Aaron Alvey did in the LLWS, and he played for your SD Cobras team, how would you handle it/what would you do?"
and- "What precautions do you take to prevent pitcher/player injuries at such a young age?" and- "What does a young pitcher need to do to pitch effectively?" and- "in an ultra competitive environment like travelling baseball, how do you keep the expectation of the kids futures in check (or the parents expectations of their kid's futures)?" Okay.. that may be a little overbearing.. pick and choose as you will. Good choice for an interview! Congrats on snagging him! |

If there was one pitcher in all of baseball you could have caught, who would it have been?
Who slid hardest into home? Did you ever get the chance to pay back?

What did it take to stay in the big leagues for as long as you did? How hard was it to keep battling to get the roster spot?

What do these guys do as far as protecting their players from injury? Do they have a qualified sports medicine on hand at all games and practices? Do they work on mechanics? Do they keep pitch counts (bad measure, but it gives us hope if they do)? How do they expect 13 yr olds to stand up to a schedule that most college pitchers would break down on?
