1) On Wednesday, Manny Ramirez reached 1000 career RBI.

After 81 RCAA/1.154 OPS and 59 RCAA/1.014 OPS the past 2 years, Ramirez is off to a .603 SLG, .445 OBA, 1.049 OPS start in his first 86 games. He has a 1.004 career OPS, compared to his league average of 1.004, and 46 RCAA in 86 games. He's working on his 4th consecutive year with a 1.000+ OPS and 6th .400+ OPS in 8 years.

2) The Cubs called up P Alan Benes, to take Tom Gordon's spot on the roster.

Benes has a 4.42 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.27, and -11 RSAA in 101 games and hasn't made his 2002 debut yet.

3) Brewers CF Alex Sanchez was out of yesterday's lineup, due to disciplinary reasons. 7) Tigers 2B Damion Easley was scratched from yesterday's lineup, to return home to be with his sick child. He's expected back tomorrow or Monday.

8) The Rockies sent P Shawn Chacon to the minors and called up P Brian Fuentes.
