Default Another Chicagoan

Hi all, I've been scanning the NetShrine forums for the last month or two following the interesting debates/discussions that you have been having.

I finally made the effort to sign up today. I'm a big sports fan. I follow most sports and am a big fan of the Cubbies, Bears, DePaul basketball (or whatever you call it these days), University of Illinois basketball and football.

I look forward to reading more and hopefully participating.

Welcome Whohangs. Always room for another true Blue believer.

Just say no to Tony Muser as Cubs manager!

Thanks for the welcome! I saw the Tony Muser thread and article and got sick.

Yes, I remember that group of DePaul players. I'm on the young side (25), but do remember watching them on WGN when I was young. My favorite Blue Demon growing up was Tommy Kleinschmidt. I can't remember who DePaul was playing, but I recall a game where I believe DePaul was down by three and he hit a fall-away three and was fouled and won the game. I think it was against Memphis, but my details are probably all wrong (I don't have the greatest memory). In any case, DePaul should be on the rebound now that Kennedy/Bradshaw are gone.

Sorry, the Welcome wagon was tardy! How could I miss a Whohang?

Prior and Wood could be the real deal. You think another Schilling/Johnson in the making?

Do the Cubs have a mascot?

I believe the correct quote would be "We're idiots ... but we're proud to be idiots."

Oh, and welcome Whohangs to BallyWorld.

Oh, and welcome Whohangs to BallyWorld.

That exact quote would only apply to Will.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

As for Prior/Woods being the next Shilling/Johnson, Prior definitely has the stuff, if only the Cubs would find someone who won't pitch him until his arm implodes. Woods on the other hand drives Cubs fans nuts. He can pitch a shutout one day while striking out 10, then the next outing he'll walk 10 guys, then the next outing he'll give up 12 hits. I'd like to see him put together a string of 4 or 5 starts of consistent pitching.

As far as Cubs mascots, I think they should bring back Don Baylor to take that job.
