Hello from Alabama
Hi everybody Keith Thronson from Mobile, Alabama. Some of the prettiest women, great beaches, U.S. Battleship Alabama Memorial Park, Bellingrath Gardens and a lot of Confederate history and forts. I am a baseball historian of sorts and I love American and World history too. Especially history concerning our Revolutionary War with England and the Civil War. I love to play chess and collect baseball and football trading cards. the most expensive card I ever received was an autographed card of Alex Rodriquez worth $400.00 Sold it. lol
I was born in South Carolina, but raised here in Mobile since I was four years old. I'm 46. I've lived in other major cities for short periods due to work and etc. Lived in Newburyport, Massachuetts, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, Ca., Austin and Dallas Texas and Orlando and Tampa Florida. Lived in new Orleans several times. Hope to meet everybody-I'm a laid back guy that loves the game of baseball and its history. Also good with NFL history dating back to the 60's and 70's. Talk with you all later. |

Hi Keith. Welcome. I too am a history buff (though I hate that term), probably moreso in the US/World History areas than in baseball though I am catching up bit by bit. We may have some interesting conversations. I hope you enjoy the 'Shrine and become a regular.
P.S. I'll be sure to show proper respect to your venerability, as I am merely a young whippersnapper of 40. P.P.S. Are you a Yankee fan, physicist, lawyer, or smart aleck? If so you have to leave; we have too many of each here. Sorry. ![]() |

It is very hot and humid here in the summer. Mobile is the rainest metropolis in the nation. Rains a lot in the late afternoons.

Yankee fans, yes. The rest? No way!!! Keeps us all young and spry. Better than being "dumb alecks"! Welcome Keith! And misspell words whenever you get the chance! It helps keep older minds more alert. ![]()

Yes HM46, as you may have guessed, I have the totally undeserved and unfairly bestowed reputation here as the NetShrine spelling police. Sob. |

I dated a woman that lived there, and spent many weekends in Mobile. She took me to the Flower Festival (still have that?), and we spent a lot of time at the track enjoying drinks in the heat. (Man, and I thought south GA was hot!!) Other than Savannah, Mobile is my favorite southern city. 'Bama women and their drawls and natural beauty make me melt. ![]() Ahhh, memories....... |
