BP Bat Barrel Tape Jobs
This has been going on for a while - -
players taping the barrel of their bats, with that white trainer's tape, when they use that bat in BP. What's he reason behind that? I can recall stories of a player (Pete Rose?) who used to clean his BP bat with rubbing alcohol - - so that he could see where the ball marks were on that bat (to determine if he was getting the good part of the bat on the ball). Is the tape for the same thing?

Does it also have something to do with not wanting to break the bat during BP, but I would think it would be easy to look at the tape and see the marks.....
