Question Your Hometown & High School Heroes

How many players do you know of from your hometown (either born or raised) that made the big leagues? Anyone from your High School?

Me - -

Bobby Thomson
Terry Crowley
Jason Marquis
George Bamberger
Frankie Menechino
Hank Majeski
Pete Mikkelsen
Larry Bearnarth
Frank Fernandez
Cliff Brantley
Rich Scheid

sure there are others I missed.........Brantley went to the same H.S. as me, graduated 6 years after me (his brother Harold, not a big leaguer, was a year ahead of me).

Jay Johnstone, Ron and Gary Roenicke and Rick Aguilera all went to my high school. I played on a pee wee football team with Len Dykstra in 5th grade. Aguilera was a senior when I was a sophomore and I had one class with him. The teacher was the baseball coach.

Practically anyone who grew up in Southern Cal will have a similar list.

No one from my high school. Heck, I only know of Cal Eldred from my University, the U of Iowa!

I don't think I know of anyone that went to my high school. Jeff Conine is our Tacoma Star here, unless you are a Steve Lyons fan...bahaha, those exist? Anyway, that's the best we can do here. Although hell if I know if they grew up here.

I went to high school with Mike Trombley.

I grew up in a very small town that shared a high school with a neighboring small town.

Bill Garen the hockey player is also in the same two town area.

Nope. He would know my sister in law. As a matter of fact he dated my sister laws closest friend. They all hung out. She is out in California and sometimes catches up with him at a game.

I was younger than him. I think he was in my anatomy class but not sure. I had many classes with his sister.

Of what is loosely described as my hometown (Trenton/suburbs) there's George Case, Mike Tiernan, Dave Gallagher, a few others. From my high school, none...although after I graduated there was Kevin Johnson, the NFL wide receiver.

I went to high school with Terry Bradshaw, who saw very limited action with the Cards as an OF in the early 90's.

(I also went to school with Terrence Warren, who was drafted in the 2nd round by the Seahawks...did not pan out.)

From my college (Georgia Southern), Todd Greene and Joey Hamilton.

Jim DeShaies
Bid McPhee are from where I live now.

NBA and former Syracuse star John Wallace was a year behind me at the high school where I grew up.

If I were Catholic (and rich) I'd have gone to Moeller HS for a year and could claim Griffey Jr. Otherwise no-one comes to mind.
