Default Rookie Jake Peavy doing well for San Diego

Pitcher Jake Peavy has found his niche in the majors. He's pitching pretty good ball for the Padres. He is from my hometown of Mobile, Alabama and believe this or not he was my next door neighbor when he was a young boy. He and his brother use to throw their ball over our fence all the time and we would have to throw it back lol His dad is or was a doctor here in Mobile.

That's pretty cool. Boy, Mobile sure has produced its share of baseball players over the years.

I have Peavy as a retain for next year in my roto league. I like him.

I totally forgot that Peavy was from Mobile. I can't believe I didn't include him in my answer for your trivia question. I imagine it was pretty convenient for him when he was in AA ball, playing in his hometown for the Bay Bears.

Peavy has been awesome, and along with Brian Lawrence, Oliver Perez, and Adam Eaton, the Padres have the makings of a great staff. The only thing that worries me about Peavy is his throwing motion. He is an arm injury waiting to happen. The way he whips his arm, I think it is only a matter of time until he blows out his elbow.

The guy I really look forward to watching is Perez - very impressed with his early results, and his repertoire.
