6) The Phillies traded 3B Scott Rolen and minor league P Doug Nickle to the Cardinals for Ps Bud Smith and Mike Timlin and 3B Placido Polanco.

After 28 RCAA/.920 OPS and 32 RCAA/.876 OPS the past 2 years, Rolen's off to a .472 SLG, .358 OBA, .830 OPS, 14 RCAA start in his first 100 games. He has a .877 career OPS, compared to his league average of .776, and 152 RCAA in 844 games.

1) The Whitesox traded C Sandy Alomar Jr. to the Rockies for minor league P Enemencio Pacheco.

After -12 RCAA/.728 OPS and -14 RCAA/.634 OPS the past 2 years, Alomar's off to a .485 SLG, .309 OBA, .794 OPS, -1 RCAA start in his first 51 games. He has a .731 career OPS, compared to his league average of .761, and -87 RCAA in 1114 games.

Pacheco, 23, is off to a 3.16 ERA start in Hi-A.

2) According to the Contra Costa Times and ESPN's Peter Gammons, the Giants are close to acquiring Cliff Floyd.

3) According to the Boston Globe, the Redsox are considering offers to trade for Bartolo Colon, Kenny Rogers and Livan Hernandez.

4) Indians DH Ellis Burks was scratched from yesterday's lineup, due to shoulder soreness.
