Shrine Meeting - August 17 - Yes Or No - Page 3

I'm waiting to congress with Will. There are some UTK guys there, however, I'll be in Nashville next week at a conference.

We're still going to do this....come on down (or up!)

I've already made my annual trip to the Midwest, so I will have to decline the invite.

Can I suggest an East Coast meeting, possibly next season? It'd be fun to take in a Yanquis-Sox clash (at the Fens, of course

) with the NDF regulars.

Acutally, in terms of air fare and hotel accomidations, I think the midwest is more accomidating for our budget travelers. You know, the ones that don't hit the secret square! So that's why we thought HERE, and not in Boston (where the wound in my pocket book from my 2000 trip still chafes once in a while...)

No doubt things are more cost effective in the Midwest (a bag of peanuts at Wrigley: $2.75, a bag of peanuts at Fenway, $5.50).

The travel costs however, are prohibitive and seeing as how there are more than few "east-coasters" on the board, I'd travel to NYC for a meeting there or, if baseball returns to DC, I'd go there. Of course, Fenway, for those who haven't been is a worth the trip, no matter the cost...

Just a suggestion for next season...

Of course, next year the membership could be skewed again. I was hoping more of the Cleveland crew would come on down.

I'll travel anywhere, but it was my idea and Victory Field is the absolute best minor league park anywhere. Everyone must see it.

But even though there are a lot of Easties, they always seem reluctant to come west. I think we have some Westies too...so perhaps we should meet in Omaha, or Pierre?
