Default easy there, Tiger!

http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2002/0716/1406215.html
Quote:
Lisa Kesner, of Lima, Ohio, filed a sexual harassment lawsuit claiming that players and others subjected her to unwanted physical touching and drunken and lewd behavior, beginning on her first flight with the team in April 2000.

U.S. District Judge Lawrence P. Zatkoff noted that the Tigers organization and other defendants in the lawsuit did not make any attempt to deny Kesner's allegations. But he dismissed 29 of the 30 complaints she made.

None of the players is named as a defendant in Kesner's suit.

Zatkoff ruled the single complaint of sexual harassment against Olympia Aviation could proceed to trial, set for Aug. 1.

Olympia Aviation was a company owned by Tigers owner Mike Ilitch. It now is dissolved.
this seems like the kind of thing that gets quickly swept under a rug.....is there a history of 'bad' behavior by MLB players in flights?

What's more important is that you pronounce the name of the city correctly - its Lima as in Lima Bean, not Leema as in Lima, Peru. Hey, I've got family there.

And it started on the first flight? Good - like baseball doesn't have enough problems without having to worry about this stuff.

It's almost like the NFL.

There have been a number of incidents reported about players on transportation, from Babe Ruth dangling manager Miller Huggins out of a train, to the Babe being pursued by a knife-wielding woman through a train, to various drunken behavior on airplanes.

Athletes misbehaving? Acting rudely to women? Watching porno and smoking pot? I am shocked. Absolutely shocked! and disillusioned!

I believe Anderson got caught in the minors using pot and he's good friends with Weaver. None of this really surprises me.

This might be some kind of B.S. lawsuit. Smoking pot in the john sounds like no big deal but ever since smoking was banned on flights it has been a big deal. No professional crew would have tolerated that.

As for the crude behavior stuff you wonder if she wasn't a willing participant for a while then had a change of heart (or talked to a shyster attorney). For something like this to hold water she should produce records of her complaints to management.

Actually, I think anything that keeps the Tigers in the news is a good thing. The team is garnering much publicity other than for Ernie Harwell, Trading Jeff Weaver and lawsuits.

The Tigers have traded or released most of the players involved except Anderson. Athletes misbehaving? Who would have thunk it?
