View New Posts problem?

A few times this week, after asking to "View New Posts" and then going through the various threads I sometimes all of a sudden won't have the "view new messages" choice within a thread and can't do it for every other thread I select even though it was working during that same session.

I'm a slow reader so I don't know if my login is timing out. Sometimes I'll be reading messages for 20+ minutes.

It doesn't happen often but it has happened a few times this week.

For what it's worth, NDF usually recognizes me and I don't need to log in, though once every other week I need to.

The "new posts" feature does time out after a while - - ex. - if you use view new posts, then select a post, and take your time on that thread - reading or crafting a reply - it will cause you to time-out on the "last time here" catch of "new posts" and you will lose the ability to "new new posts" since the software (as a result of you 'hanging for a while') will think all the posts are now old to you - even if you didn't read them.

Functionality of the software - not much I can do about - sorry.

Thanks for the quick response. I *think* I once got around the problem by signing in again and when I asked for new 'threads' it gave me a list like when I entered the prior time. Since I remembered which was the last thread I read it wasn't a problem, just an inconvenience.

I just wanted to let you know in case I was the only one it was happening to and there was a preference I could adjust.
