5) Rangers SS Alex Rodriguez was out of yesterday's lineup, after spraining his left ankle on Saturday, but was able to be used as a pinch hitter and played the field.

After 75 RCAA/1.026 OPS and 73 RCAA/1.021 OPS seasons the past 2 years, Rodriguez's off to a .593 SLG, .394 OBA, .987 OPS, 23 RCAA start in his first 67 games. He has a .951 career OPS, compared to his league average of .778, and 316 RCAA in 1019 games.

6) Yankees SS Derek Jeter had to leave yesterday's game, due to a bone bruise in his left knee. He'll have X-rays and is expected to be able to play on Tuesday.

After 35 RCAA/.896 OPS and 32 RCAA/.858 OPS seasons the past 2 years, Jeter's off to a .415 SLG, .369 OBA, .784 OPS, 7 RCAA start in his first 69 games. He has a .856 career OPS, compared to his league average of .778, and 200 RCAA in 1005 games.

7) The Giants activated INF Ramon Martinez from the DL and designated OF Tom Goodwin for assignment.

Everett was off to a .205 SLG, .308 OBA, .512 OPS, -4 RCAA start in his first 18 games. Ginter only has 8 PA in 7 games this year.

Zinter, 34, was the Mets first round pick in 1989 and this is his first time in the majors. He's in his 7th organization and is off to a .735 OPS (.298 OBA, .437 SLG) start in AAA this year.

Linebrink's off to a 6.08 ERA/-2 RSAA start in his first 14 games and has a 5.05 ERA/-2 RSAA in 34 games over the past 3 years.

10) The Indians placed 2B Ricky Gutierrez on the 15 day DL, retroactive to June 14, and called up utilityman Jolbert Cabrera.

Gutierrez has a strained left groin. In his 9 previous years, he had 5 with a double digit negative RCAA and only 1 with a positive figure. Gutierrez's off to a .301 SLG, .295 OBA, .595 OPS, -16 RCAA start in his first 59 games and has a .690 career OPS, compared to his league average of .771, and -97 RCAA in 1023 games.

11) Cardinals 1B Tino Martinez was out of yesterday's lineup, due to soreness in his shoulder, but was used as a defensive replacement.

12) Orioles OF Melvin Mora had to leave yesterday's game, after twisting his left ankle.

After starting his career with -4, -7 and -5 RCAA seasons, Mora's off to a .414 SLG, .346 OBA,. 760 OPS, 4 RCAA start in his first 61 games. He has a .720 career OPS, compared to his league average of .774, and -12 RCAA in 387 games.

13) Braves SS Rafael Furcal had to leave yesterday's game, after being hit in the elbow by a pitch. X-rays were negative and he's day to day.

After starting his career with .776 OPS/8 RCAA and .691 OPS/-9 RCAA seasons, Furcal's off to a .377 SLG, .321 OBA, .698 OPS, -10 RCAA start in his first 69 games. He has a .731 career OPS, compared to his league average of .781, and -11 RCAA in 279 games.

14) According to the Detroit News, the Tigers asked the Rangers for top 3B prospect Hank Blalock, pitching prospect Colby Lewis and another prospect for Jeff Weaver.

15) The Brewers are replacing Nelson Figueroa with Jose Cabrera in their rotation.

After a 3.94 ERA/3 RSAA in 19 games (13 starts) as a 27 year old rookie with the 2001 Phillies, Figueroa's off to a 5.80 ERA/-11 RSAA start in his first 13 games (9 starts).

Cabrera's alternated between positive and negative RSAA in a career that began in 1997 and had a career 10 in 2001. He's off to a 4.75 ERA/-4 RSAA start in his first 30 games (2 starts--the first 2 of his career) and has a 4.00 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.39, and 10 RSAA in 178 games.

16) Whitesox 2B Ray Durham had to leave yesterday's game, due to an undisclosed injury.

After -2 RCAA/.810 OPS and 5 RCAA/.804 OPS seasons the past 2 years, Durham's off to a .355 SLG, .373 OBA, .728 OPS, 0 RCAA start in his first 63 games. He has a .773 career OPS, compared to his league average of .778, and 26 RCAA in 1113 games.

17) Pirates C Jason Kendall and SS Jack Wilson were given routine days off.
