Maybe the WWF is like those Batman movies? Same part (Batman) played by different guys.

HOW can you turn a thread about beloved boxing into a thread about steriod freaks in girlie shorts? UGH!
Hey, did anyone hear that Vargas has to go to jail for 9 months? I think that's hilarious...he was finally convicted of battery or something. What a doof. And poor Mike Tyson...I tell ya, if I were him, I'd just pay some broad to sleep with me...why sweat the hassle that some little media-hungry gold digger might scream RAPE if he even looks at her the wrong way. I think this is another one of those conspiracies that we hear so much about. Tsk, tsk. (Yes, I'm guilty of holding boxers to a different standard than the rest of the population...it's sick, I know.) |

Do wrestlers ever use their real names? A few like the Hart Foundation, including the late Owen Hart, who'd lost his life when he fell off some cage suspended in midair, breaking his neck. Other than this, Hulk Hogan was really Terry Bollea. Bruno Sammartino probably used his real name, but Killer Kowalski? Gorilla monsoon? Which mama names her son that? ![]() |

![]() Aren't heavyweights about 6'4" and 240 lbs? Randy Johnson is 6'10" and 230 lbs. but he's too skinny to be a wrestler or even a rassler like that Brawler guy was.Quote:
Tyson is married and unless Showtime and HBO can work out who he's going to fight instead of disagreeing about TV rights, schedule and everything else, he must fight someone decent. If not who cares what he does behind closed doors? |

Right on about Tyson, Yogi. I wish they'd unify boxing so we'd have a clear picture of who needs to fight who in order to be the undisputed champion. Of course, that would cut down on profits BIG TIME so it will never happen. Tyson can't sneeze without being charged with something nowadays.
And so much for the Maylay in China...way to let paranioa get the best of you, Mr. King. ![]() |

In the case of boxing, Tyson's Showtime can't agree with his old client, HBO. Right after Tyson jumped ship to Showtime, HBO had some movie about his "ways" with mistreating women, the fondling, pinching, etc. Seemed like a very cheap way to treat someone who left to your rival. As far as the a title bout, the two cable channels could never agree, so it seemed like they were stalling on purpose. HBO reportedly wanted the first Lewis-Tyson match when Lennox was champ, and Showtime said they'd take the rematch. HBO supposedly then said what if the rematch were bigger and they were left out? With big money running the show, it's probably inconceivable to have a match showing on one channel while the next has a 1 day or 1 week delayed transmission. Makes me want to go back to the good old days when people saw fights at MSG on Channel 7 or some other channel. Unthinkable now, but why is it that a fight which the public has wanted the last few years doesn't get aired because the likely broadcasters can't work things out. It's as if the IBF, WBA, WBC don't count anymore, it's only HBO and Showtime. Quote:

How could any wrong that he did compare with that?" - John Sears |
