Wondering who the golf fans think will win this weekend. No need to mention Tiger, we all know he's going to be a great bet on any course.
A few I think will be milling around come Sunday (obviously the top players in the world have the best chance -- I'm trying to pick a few from different levels): Toms, Els, Cink, Kenny Perry, Goosen, Leonard This will be a great Open. Never played at the Black (actually had a time there once but severely sprained my ankle), but many I know that have said that even before it was set up for the open the rough was a .5-1 stroke penalty. That's why I can see Toms, Perry, and Leonard around. Els and Goosen like courses set up this way. Cink's my favorite player, and does better as the winning score gets closer and closer to par (he doesn't go too low, and he doesn't go too high). By the way, if Mickelson can get over his too-aggresive thing, this could be the best Open setup he'll ever see, consider his touch around the greens + length. |

It's bad enough having to go into the final round with Tiger lurking. But if he's leading after one round, then I can only imagine the mind games it must play with the other guys. It'll be interesting who steps up their game today.

Two good guys behind Tiger in Sergio and Mickelson, but 4 and 5 strokes respectively are going to be difficult to make up. With the scores we've seen, it seems pretty apparent that Tiger will have to come back to the pack a little. Shooting par would mean someone needing a 64 or 65 to beat him, and that seems like a huge longshot.
