Pep Saul.
Kind of surprised at the airballs the Kings put up at the end last night, particularly Petra's. |

That Stojakovic miss could have been match point for the Kings.

The only player to win NBA titles in consecutive years with different teams is Pep Saul ('51 Royals, '52 Lakers). Oh, and I know you meant 'Peja' ![]()

Last night was awesome baby! I stayed up to watch game 7 (instead of going to sleep at 7pm to get up for world cup games) and it was a treat. I still got up at 2:30 for the WC, and paid for it at work today (zzzzzzzz................)
Lakers will win this in 4, maybe 5, and I'll be a happy man again!

Actually, he now shares that record with Steve Kerr who won it with the Bulls in 98 and the Spurs in 99. (The bastard.)

Had the Kings hit 65% of their free throws, they would have won despite the referees best efforts to see that the Lakers made it to the finals. It puzzles me how the King's centers can pile up 12 fouls in a game when Shaq bowls over players endlessly without drawing a foul.
Funny, when Shaq was with the Magic, the refs didn't give him any breaks but when he moved to EL AY he suddenly didn't foul nearly as much (despite being much heavier and far less agile than he was in his Magic years) Hmmmm |

right... and the fact that Kobe got called on two questionable foul calls at critical times in the game had nothing to do with the officiating.

I say the Lakers, because I don't see the Nets having an answer to the Shaq question. If Shaq is really hurting, the Nets could squeeze it out, but at close to full strength it's hard to imagine.

I was impressed with the Nets' effort last night, not simply giving up when they fell way behind early. I still don't think they have any shot, but I hope they can at least keep it competitive.
NBA Finals, Stanley Cup, French Open, World Cup, baseball in full swing - this is a good time of year to be a sports fan. |

... or the NBA for that matter.
Plus, there's a semi-important horse race going on in NY this weekend. |
