Default FLASH: Bonds

Under The Knife transmitted this message tonight to the San Francisco Giants and feel the message speaks for itself. We will keep you updated as to the progress.

My name is William Carroll and I am the editor of Under The Knife, a newsletter dedicated to baseball injuries and related topics. One topic that continually comes up is the use of performance enhancing drugs and supplements. In a recent interview, Barry Bonds offered to be tested for steroids to clear up the suggestions that his use of steroids led to his home run surge of 2001. Since we at Under The Knife have always felt that Mr. Bonds should not be subject to the veiled suggestions, we would like to take this opportunity to clear this situation up, once and for all. Under The Knife hereby offers to conduct and monitor a drug test of Barry Bonds on a random day within the next thirty days. This test will be conducted at our expense and the results will be broadcast to our subscribers before being made available to the general public. Mr. Bonds clearly feels strongly about this issue and we feel that it is our duty to assist him in ending the speculation and cementing his place in baseball history untarnished by innuendo.

You may contact me at the above address or at <phone number deleted>.

Thank you,

Will Carroll

Very interesting. If I were Bonds and I wasn't taking, I'd want to dispel the rumors ASAP. But, there must be ways to fool the test?

Default Fooling the Test

Sure, there are always ways to beat the test. Im not sure of the latency of all steroids so he could have been using last year or over the winter but not now so it could miss that. I did say that I would do it on a random day so that he couldn't clean out the system specifically for a test and our monitoring of it would insure he didn't swap urine.

I hope he takes me up on it. Be the best advertising I ever got!

I didn't hear anyone else take him up on his offer. Never hurts to take a shot.
