Me fail English? That's unpossible.
No, Ralph. Let me tell you what is unpossible. It is unpossible for people to get the maximum enjoyment out of the baseball/Internet combination without going to the bulletin boards at Netshrine. Come join us at http://www.netshrine.com/vbulletin2 1) Twins SS Cristian Guzman returned to the lineup yesterday, after missing 5 games with inflammation behind his left kneecap. MGR Ron Gardenhire says Guzman may miss today's game, to help him back into the lineup. Guzman's having another terrible season, hitting .230 SLG, .225 OBA, .455 OPS, -13 RCAA in 24 games. Guzman's #1 in the American League in worst RCAA over the course of his career-- Code:
2) The Cardinals moved P Andy Benes from the 15 day to the 60 day DL, to make room on the 40 man roster for P Jason Simontacchi, who started yesterday. 3) The Padres activated P Kevin Jarvis from the DL and placed P Matt DeWitt on the 15 day DL, retroactive to May 3. Jarvis is off to a 2.45 ERA/5 RSAA in his first 5 starts. In his 7 previous seasons, the only time he had a positive RCAA was when he had 3 in 2000, while he has 5 years with a double digit negative figure. It's pretty pathetic when you can have a -18 figure, as Jarvis did in 2001, and have that only be the 3rd worst figure of your career. DeWitt has a strained right shoulder. 4) Padres MGR Bruce Bochy says Brian Tollberg will rejoin the rotation, on Thursday, replacing Ben Howard. 5) Rangers OF Carl Everett had to leave yesterday's game, with a strained right calf. He's day to day, while MGR Jerry Narron says he doesn't expect Everett to play today. Everett's off to a terrible start, hitting just .327 SLG, .228 OBA, .555 OPS, -9 RCAA in 28 games. 6) Giants CF Tsuyoshi Shinjo was scratched from yesterday's lineup, due to a pulled right quadriceps, and is day to day. After a .725 OPS/-8 RCAA rookie season, Shinjo is hitting .337 SLG, .271 OBA, .608 OPS, -3 RCAA in 28 games. 7) Giants P Jason Schmidt had to leave yesterday's game, in the 1st, due to tightness in his shoulder. Schmidt's had 4 consecutive years with a positive RSAA and is off to a slow start this year, with a 7.71 ERA and -4 RSAA in 3 starts. 8) The Diamondbacks activated P Greg Swindell from the DL and placed P Todd Stottlemyre on the 15 day DL, retroactive to May 2. Stottlemyre's shoulder bothering him again. He's off to a 7.45 ERA/-7 RSAA start in his first 4 starts. Swindell's coming off a 4.53 ERA/1 RSAA season in 2001, after having 4 consecutive years with a RSAA between 11-14, and made his 2002 debut yesterday. 9) Mariners 2B Bret Boone was out of yesterday's lineup, due to a bruised heel, but was able to appear as a pinch hitter. Prior to 2001, the only time Boone had a positive RCAA was back in 1994 and he had 5 double digit negative figures during his 1st 9 years. He's off to a .434 SLG, .299 OBA, .733 OPS, -1 RCAA start in his first 30 games. 10) Yankees DH-1B Nick Johnson had to leave yesterday's game, due to pain in his right knee, and will have a MRI today. Johnson's off to a slow start, hitting .358 SLG, .318 OBA, .676 OPS, -5 RCAA in 30 games. 11) Whitesox MGR Jerry Manuel says Gary Glover will move into the rotation, taking the spot vacated when Jon Rauch was sent to the minors. After a 4.93 ERA/-4 RSAA season in 46 games (11 starts) as a 24 year old rookie in 2001, Glover is off to a fast start, with a 1.32 ERA and 6 RSAA in 13 games this year. 12) The A's activated 2B Randy Velarde from the DL and sent OF Mike Colangelo to the minors. 13) The BlueJays sent P Scott Cassidy to the minors, to make room on the roster for P Pete Walker, who they claimed off waivers from the Mets on Friday. 14) Brewers 2B Eric Young was given a day off yesterday and MGR Jerry Roster says he'll put Ron Belliard in Young's place every time they have a day game after a night game. Coming into the season, Young's had 3 double digit negative RCAAs in the past 5 years and is off to a .250 SLG, .274 OBA, .524 OPS, -10 RCAA start in 27 games. Belliard's also off to a slow start, hitting just .328 SLG, .306 OBA, .634 OPS, -3 RCAA in 20 games. But, Belliard's gotten Young beat in career OBA, OPS, RCAA/OUT, RCAA/PA and OWP. 15) Diamondbacks C Damian Miller had to leave yesterday's game, due to back spasms, and P Brian Anderson had to leave after bruising his left thumb. Miller is day to day. After 3 consecutive years with a negative RCAA, but never worse than -8, he's off to a fast start, hitting .602 SLG, .358 OBA, .960 OPS, 5 RCAA in 25 games. X-rays on Anderson were negative and he'll be reevaluated today. His -9 RSAA in 2001 was the 2nd worst of his career, ahead of just his -14 in 1995, and he's off to a 6.83 ERA/-8 RSAA start in his first 10 games (4 starts). 16) Cubs CF Corey Patterson was out of yesterday's lineup, after getting hit in the knee by a pitch on Friday. He was able to pinch hit and MGR Don Baylor says he should return today. Patterson's off to a good start, hitting .471 SLG, .386 OBA, .857 OPS, 8 RCAA in 27 games. 17) Frank Catalanotto was scratched from yesterday's lineup, due to flulike symptoms. While his .882 OPS/31 RCAA season in 2001 was most likely a career year, Catalanotto has shown he can be a productive player, with a .832 OPS/5 RCAA season in 2000 and a .825 career OPS, compared to his league average of .776. He's off to a .427 SLG, .358 OBA, .785 OPS, 1 RCAA start in 25 games. 18) The Pirates are expected to activate 2B Pokey Reese from the DL today.

I think it started with 2 runs in 3 games at Coors Field.
Boy, is this a team that needs to get Craig Wilson in the lineup. |

What about Willie Mays? Or do you not include franchises that moved? |

Mays started with the Giants and was still a Giant after the team moved. So, he definitely wasn't playing for a team other than the one he debuted with. Meanwhile, if they became the San Francisco Huge Guys, or something else, I would still consider that to be the same team, just like Frank Howard's Senators/Rangers total all count for the same team.
