Default Before Wade and Ichiro

Who held the AL record for most games with a hit (season) before Wade Boggs hit in 135 games in 1985, and later tied by Ichiro Suzuki? How many did they have?

Well..Sisler held it a while ago, with 130. But a guy broke it after him (obviously) and before Boggs had 135.

I should say that, according to what year or source you use, you may get different people. The same book (in diff. years) claims that someone over 80 years ago had the record (Sisler), then that someone 25 years ago held it, but then later say that someone just under 80 years ago holds it.
So obviously, this record kept changing until just recently.

Nope. Of the 2 people I would accept (since the record seems to change in the older books), only one has played in the last 70 years.

Carew is one of the people I was looking for!
He had hits in 131 games in 1977.
The other person I'm looking for had hits in 133 games.

The other guy I was looking for was Al Simmons in 1925.
Here's a list of the most games with a hit, that I have found:
Code:
Chuck Klein 1930 135 Wade Boggs 1985 135 Ichiro Suzuki 2001 135 Rogers Hornsby 1922 135 Derek Jeter 1999 135 Al Simmons 1925 133 Rod Carew 1977 131 George Sisler 1920 130 Lefty O'Doul 1929 130
