Default Position player with 4+ IP in a season

Who was the last NL position player to have 4+ IP in a single season? (Hint: He had more K than ER as a reliever in his career.)

Almost. Law's last NL pitching was in 1987, although he did pitch in Oakland in 1991. But I must admit that his 7 appearances is mighty impressive.

We have a winner!

Interesting thing is that when I went through baseball-reference.com to double-check this, it says that Ed Giavanola had a game with 4.3 IP (!) in 1999. Stunned by this, I searched around with google until I found a blurb that said that he had 1 1/3 of an inning. Makes much more sense.

Just wandering:
How do you do a search on Baseball-reference?

I didn't search on BR, I used the Teams feature and walked through each NL season from 1991-2001 and looked at the pitching summary to find hitters.

When I found this anomoly (which I verified is an error this AM at retrosheet) I just went over to Google and started searching for an article about the game.

I'm going to play cybersquatter and report to the error to Sean and claim that it's mine.

I actually said that "a friend of mine" noticed the bug anyway, so I didn't try to be a devil about it.
