It's been going on for years.

Yes,
it's absolutely true, it's blatant and an insult to fans.

Is basketball more prone to this since the refs have a bigger influence over the course of a game than any other sport?

THat and the league briefs them before big games and situations.

And a dynamic player has more individual ratings and marketing appeal than some teams, not as much in other sports.
In any combination of possibilities there is always one that the league would obviously prefer matching up in primetime than others

NBA [Is NBC

Just another reason not to be a fan of the NBA, no?

Maybe, but there is enough that frustrates me about MLB suits also.

It does weigh on me and this year after the Knicks elimination I've only seen one Playoff game.

I've pretty much stopped following boxing all together because of the corrpution of the sport.

Will we ever see another 1919 scandal in baseball?

Love playing the game of basketball. But as to watching it not. For me watching a bball game is equivilent to watching paint dry.

If I have watched 5 minutes of the playoffs, I've watched a ton.

I'm 39 years old - or, I will be, if I make it to November. And, I've never watched more than 15 minutes of an NBA game in my whole life.

I'm David Stern's worst nightmare. Kinda like it too.

Funny part, I once interviewed with the NBA. I would have been the only guy to work there that could care less about the sport.............
