Default 3B Triple Crown - Almost

From 1960-1999, there were 4 third basemen who won 2 legs of the Triple Crown, but fell short in the other. One of these guys did it 3 times, the others only once each.

Can you give me the name, the year (or years), and the category they didn't win?

I'll go with the obvious one, Schmidt:

He was tops in HR and RBI in 1980, 1981, 1984, and 1986.

Joe Torre was a 3b in 1971 when he led in average and rbi.

Kevin Mitchell led in HR/RBI, and played a couple of games at third in 89, does that qualify him?

How about Killebrew in 1969? HR/RBI.

Joe Torre is one of the correct answers, for that great 1971 season.

Gyb is also correct with Killebrew.

I had to change this from 3 to 4 players, because I forgot a more "recent" ones, so we still need one from the past decade.

How about HoJo (HR/RBI) in 1991?

Good one, Gyb - HoJo was the last to do it. And then he disappeared completely!

Actually, it was the opposite. He led in BA (.330) but fell short in the other two categories (3rd in HR, 5th in RBI).
