Cool HBO To Do Baseball Wives?

Would this show be interesting? See bold below:

Michelle Johnson, the actress wife of Arizona third baseman Matt Williams, appears as a school principal in an upcoming Disney movie entitled ``Mickey.''

``It's about a 13-year-old boy who plays in the Little League World Series even though he's too old,'' Williams said. ``It's the same exact story of what happened this year.''

The movie was wrapped up before the saga of Danny Almonte of the Bronx, N.Y., unfolded in real life.

Williams' three children from his first marriage appear in the movie. So does Williams, but only on a television set in a scene.

``I think it was with the Giants,'' he said. ``They dug it out of the archives.''

Johnson also is working on an HBO project entitled ``Baseball Wives.''

``It's like `The Sopranos,''' he said.

Are baseball players' lives really that interesting?

``Heck no,'' Williams said

This show has potential. One will be the wife of a cheating player, so she'll be banging the world to get even (ala Dorn's wife in Major League, although Dorn was not cheating). One will be a substance abuser, one will be a domestic violence victim and one will be a 'good' house wife type. They'll all be hot so at a minimum it is good eye candy.

I just hope that they show the "Basebal Annie" angle - - which is how many of these women become baseball wives.

Net, are you a bit jealous?
Don't feel bad, my last boss wanted to marry Jeter, only his wife wouldn't let him.

The Annie thing really has me torn. I hate it. But, if I was a girl, or a baseball player, I would probably take advantage of it. So, I guess I am jealous?

More on this in SI this week.

It was created by Mark Grace's ex-wife, who is now married to Ray Liotta.

She'll star in it with Julie Warner (who I think was in "Doc Hollywood"?)

Story lines: Star rookie caught by wife in bed with a reporter and a player gets sent down after his wife rips his manager.

Wonder how ol' Mark feels about this?

Cross-referencing the thread on "Ball Four" in the books forum, I am reminded of a story in the book in which the guys are on the bus heading back from a road trip, swapping stories about their conquests on the road. The bus pulls up, and as the guys are filing off into the waiting arms and cars of their wives, someone says loud enough for all to hear, "okay fellas, act horny."

Unhappy Baeball wives????????

Sounds about as interesting as Rudy[the movie and the ex mayor}...as far as the sopranos, i dont know if anyone else has been watching the same show as i have, it has become so self conscious that it is bordering on parody...This sounds about as appealing as watching someone get a haircut
