Default meeting Buzz today

I am taking the trip over to Fort Lauderdale to meet Buzz today.

As to not disrupt his happy vacation I promised to be a Mets fan for the day. I woke up feeling all tingly inside..... is this what it feels to be a Mets fan? I wonder what other sensations there are to rooting for another team.

Last year when I first heard about contraction I rooted for the Expos one day. I had this uncontrollable urge to say "Ay"

Another time when I was a kid I was a big Pete Rose fan. I got banned for life from private school for being a bookie. Ironically the principals name was Mr. Giamatti.

I am really looking forward to meeting Buzz and his wife. This will be the first time I have met someone in person via the internet.

Make sure you say something bad about hockey.

Buzz really hates hockey.

Phil Linz: What did Yogi say?
Mickey Mantle: He said play it louder.

My inspiration.

Default game update

Well we pre arranged to meet at the stadium about 11. (gametime was 1pm) I figured we would have a chance to hang out for a while. I was not going to be able to stay for the whole game since I had an engagement that evening.

We found our seat and then made our way over to where the Visiting clubhouse was. We watched players come on and off the field and were able to get some pictures of some of the lesser known players. The allstars would not give us the time of day. I took about 50 pictures in which I will put on a webpage for others to view.

It was an extremely nice experience. Buzz and Mex are two charming people and It was worth the trip (1 and 1/2 hours each way) He educated me on who was who on the team and was real accomodating to all my questions. I did not realize how out of the baseball loop I was.

I had to leave after the 3rd inning. The mets were behind 3-0 when I left. For Buzz's sake I vowed never to root for the Mets again. I brought them bad luck LOL.

I was a fantastic day!
Chris

Chris - great pix!

1. The Ripken picture -
2. I think "Pat" needs a better bra.
3. Glad you didn't include Buzz' picture
a. I once asked him if I should post my picture on the site and he told me "If it's me, I don't put my picture on the internet." And,
b. I have to see the guy at work a few times a month. That's plenty 'nuff for me.

Really nice work on the photos. Taking baseball action shots is not easy. You did great.

Great job with the pics! You should save the Rey Ordonez base hit - that one could become valuable

Thanks for the compliments guys. I am so inspired I am thinking of checking out the Twins/Rangers game on the 13th. If I do I will make another photo page.

Let me just say it was a lot of fun getting to meet another NetShrine member down in Florida. Chris is a good guy and hopefully we can do it again next year.

Spring Training was awesome. It will become an annual ritual for me at this point. Getting to meet the players was fantastic and seeing them work out so closely is quite the experience.

And it pains me to say this, but Tom Seaver is a ^%&$^.
