Travis lost his age 28-31 seasons to the WWII. In his age 27 season he exploded into a star with an OPS+ of 150 for the season as well as a WARP3 of 13. When he returned from the war he was nothing. Through 1941 Travis had 105 RCAA.
Okay, how much adjustment do you want to give him?? I would never contemplate pushing him into HoF contention. But his WRAP3 of 65 for a combo SS/3B through age 27 is impressive. I think he is worth the extra credit to get up around 90 or so on the WARP3 scale.

But, after you give him a boost for what you pretend that he did, you should really also eliminate that boost to take into account the fact that you downgrade everyone who actually did have any baseball accomplishments during those years.

To follow your logic I would actually have to give him a double boost. The boost I have elected to give him is at the level of play he had against the bona fide MLers, not the motley crew he would have faced during the War.
