With Hunter gone, are the Twins out of it?

I mean, their chances are better now that the let Bret Boone go, but without Hunter, it's going to be tough.

Hunter is really not all that great offensively (17th AL OF in Win Shares), but on that team, he's a cleanup hitter (3rd behind Mauer and Jones, barely). When you live on pitching & defense and you lose a GG CF who also has a little pop, you're toast. Unless the M&M boys start hitting like the M&M boys, I think it's over. Damn.

Certainly looks bleak for the Boys of the North, but with only 55 or so games left and the Twins deep farm system they may be able to pull it off.
