Yanks Farmhand Suspended

I don't know the significance of this, but Yankee farmhand Deivi Mendez has been suspended for 30 days for a violation of the minor league substanceabuse regulations. Apparently this is non-steroid related. Maybe one of the Yankees fans can tell us if Mendez was prospect or just fodder. Below is all the information on this from mlb.com (and it isn't much):

"The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball today announced that minor league player Deivi Mendez, under contract to the New York Yankees, has been suspended for 30 games, effective today, for violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program."
