Default Any players here?

Just wondering...

In a couple of weeks, I'll be suiting up for a local hardball team. I've never played little league, but I have played at the high school, and collegiate level.

I haven't played competetively in 5 years, and I'm looking forward to standing tall on the mound and making a baseball drop, sail, curve, cut and slide... Maybe this is the year that I can get it to knuckle?

I love this game

Have fun. I played as a fill-in a couple of years ago, after having played only softball for a long time. It's definitely an adjustment facing not only pitches with movement again, but even straight fastballs.

Honestly, when I first hit the batting cages to get used to it again, I was having trouble hitting anything at 70 out of the infield. I can't imagine what it would feel like to hit a 95 mph fastball, because there's no way I'd ever get the bat around in time.

I would love to find a league of 40-somethings that got together each week and played some baseball just for fun - - nothing over 70 MPH in the pitching. Even if it was just 20 guys playing choose up each week, that would be cool.

Hmmmm........maybe I just organize it someday!

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

Lower that age a little! Seriously, I think something like that would be fantastic, and I think 70 mph is a pretty good number.

I haven't played for 6 years, and probably won't ever again. I do play touch football every week though with a bunch of 20-somethings; I can still kick their butts. It is great fun to run faster than all the college kids who think they're fast and taunt them on the way to the endszone

I'm now 40, but I have good wheels and a stong arm. The problem is I just can't hit any longer - I can hit a 65-70 mph fastball, but not much more than that. And I hate slowpitch

No NABA in your area? http://www.dugout.org/

I tried hooking up with the Rochester chapter (http://www.rochesterbaseball.com/) for the 2001, 2002 season, but commitments and life kept getting in the way and I wasn't able to play.

Thew live for the first time yesterday. My control's shot to hell. According to my coach, the ball was moving all over the place.

I need a lot of work. At this point, I'm maybe a three inning pitcher. Unfortunately, games are 7-inning doubleheaders.

Looks like I'll be a short reliever until I get my stamina back.

It felt good to finally throw live
