He did? I think that when Sen. Joe Lieberman ran as VP under Gore's ticket, he surprised many, since he didn't dress in all black, tassels, hat (based upon country of origin, like Russian hat f/Russian Jews, etc).

The thing w/Lieberman is that as an Orthodox Jew, I don't think he was required to always wear one, since I thought it was the Ultra-Orthodox Jews who'd always needed to wear the yarmulke or wide-brimmed cap. So long as he was Sabbath-observing, I thought that was all that mattered. Again, no disrespect to anybody if I'm very wrong on this, since I don't go f/disrespecting anyone's religion of all things.

I think were dealing with semantics here. People are what they want to be. Jewish, 1/2 Jewish, Catholic or born again Christian. If you want to take a position, you could make a case for whichever you want.
