The first trade of the offseason--

The Padres traded OF Terrence Long and P Dennis Tankersley to the Royals for Ps Darrell May and Ryan Bukvich.

Man, this is baseball. You gotta stop thinking. Just have fun.

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

Have you read The Baseball Same Game?

Well, the Royals like guys who swing the bat, no? Walks are for sissies!

lol

On a more serious note, maybe a change will do Tankersley some good. Anyone have his minor league numbers handy?

Well he hit 0.250 this year at Portland, with only 1 walk to 8 strikeouts, so I guess he'll fit right into the Royals' model. Oh you probably wanted his pitching numbers

Jamestown - 1-1, 3.38 ERA, 26 IP, 21 H, 32/8 K/BB
Portland - 7-4, 3.15 ERA, 120 IP, 114 H, 86/37 K/BB

By the numbers I'd say Bukvich had better upside, but maybe not. Hey, and whaddya know? The Royals upgraded to a below-average offensive LF, whereas they used to have WELL-below-average offensive OFs. Yay.
