Question 2004 American League Championship Series

any predictions or comments?

I keep coming to the conclusion that it's going to be the Yankees in 7, or the Sox in 5.

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

I predict that it will be a crazed atmosphere.

I predict that the reporters will write up that the WS will be anticlimactic after the ALCS

I predict that I will watch every game. I hope the series goes the distance

You might have to be a former punker to appreciate this........

Been called a punk, but never a punker

I also predict that scalpers will have a field day. I wish I was able to get through Ticketmaster

I think this year won't be as painful as last year for Sox fans...Yankees in five.

Rationale: This year's Yankees team is not that different from last year's offensively. Boston's is; OPS 29 points lower, RC/27 6.05 vs. 6.26. On the mound, Boston's better off with Schilling and Foulke, but everything else has been regression. Pedro's ERA was the worst of his career, Lowe and Wakefield regressed, and I honestly don't know what to think of Arroyo.

Yes, the Yankees have slid on the mound. But a Sox team with Cabrera at short and a non-career-year Bill Mueller and Trot Nixon have slid at the plate.

Not that I'll see any of it...

If the Yankees beat the Sox in 5, I'll send you a NetShrine T-shirt. There's little way that I see NY winning this thing in 5. Yankee pitchers too thin, Sox batters too powerful, IMHO.

Crash - nice Buzzcocks quote. Now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head all day.

I predict that ESPN will declare it the greatest, most dramatic series of all time, regardless of what happens on the field.

The Red Sox have as much chance at winning this series as me and the local tavern slo-pitch softball team.

How come? They won 98 games this year. They have Schilling and Pedro. They have the best offense in the American League. They man-handled the Angels, who are a good team.

Tickets are hot: http://www.thejournalnews.com/newsro...111hottix.html

if it goes to seven, I wonder what the prices will be? Come to think of it, what happens if you buy Game 7's off eBay or something and then there's no game? You just out the money?

1. Yankees won more.
2. Schilling I'll give you. Martinez pitched poorly in September and looks worn down to me.
3. Offensive win shares: NY 172, Boston 149.
4. Short series.
