According to my source, this pitcher is credited with the longest complete game in WS history (by innings, not length of game timewise).
Which WS, which game, who was the losing pitcher? |

I don't know who took the L, but I knew this was another Babe Ruth record & my research proved me right. George Herman went 14 innings in game 2 of the 1916 World Series New York Giants 2-1.

Well now, someone's onto me, aren't we? We have a winner again.
On October 8th, game 2 of the 1916 WS, Ruth went 14 innings, defeating Sherry Smith, who also pitched a complete 14-inning game. The opponent wasn't the NY Giants, it was the Brooklyn Robins, predecessors of Dem Bums, the ever-lovable underdogs who played proudly at Ebbetts Field. |
